Cow laden truck seized at Boitamari in Bongaigaon

Police seized a truck full of cows on National Highway 17 at Boitamari in Bongaigaon district this evening. The seized truck numberUP 21BN 8214 is said to have 22 cows.

A police team led by The Boitamari police station officer-in-charge Paulus Narjari raided and seized the truck full of illegally trafficked cattle. The cows were illegally brought from Kishanganj to Barpeta in Bihar

The driver of the police truck – Hendiman as well as zakir (25), a helper of the cattle trader, have also been arrested. It may be recalled that the truck had been hit with dry straw by the cattle to keep them out of the eyes of the police
