A new medical college will be launched in the state from next year. This was conveyed to the people of Dhubri and western Assam today by Director, Department of Medical Education Anup Burman
The Director, Department of Medical Education said that the MBBS first semester course will start from 2022 at Dhubri Medical College after arriving at the construction Dhubri Medical College today and taking stock of the progress of work
It may be recalled that in the afternoon, a team of several other top officials, including Anuj Bargohai, Chief Engineer, Department of Public Works (Housing), Viraj Talukdar, Secretary, Department of Public Works (Housing) visited the designated medical college site at Jhagrapar in Dhubri Later, talking to reporters, Director, Department of Medical Education Anup Burman informed that a joint team of Medical Education Department and Public Construction Department has reached Dhubri Medical College today on the directions of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma and Health Minister Keshav Mahanta
The Director, Department of Medical Education said that more than 80 per cent of the construction work of Dhubri Medical College has already been completed and the MBBS first semester course will be started in this medical college next year i.e. 2022. On the other hand, the construction of the state-of-the-art laboratory being constructed by Covidk for detection of viral disease spores at Dhubri Civil Hospital has been completed and the laboratory will be commissioned soon, said Anup Varm, Director, Department of Medical Education
It is also noteworthy that chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma had announced that the Dhubri Medical College would start from next year after taking stock of the progress of construction of dhubri medical college on the night of Maha Ashtami of last Durga Puja
