China has 1000 nuclear hathiars, Pentagon apprehensions by 2030
China has rapidly increased the construction of nuclear weapons. China’s number of nuclear weapons, which is boosting arsenals, could reach at least 1,000 by 2030. This information was disclosed by the Pentagon. The report said China has increased its land, maritime and air based nuclear capabilities. The country on the other hand is also building the infrastructure required for nuclear power expansion.
The report is being published at a time when US-China relations have been tense on a number of issues including Taiwan. It may be recalled that a year ago, the Pentagon reported that Beijing’s nuclear weapons number could reach about 400 within a decade. But China is far ahead of what it thinks.
The report also expressed concern over Beijing’s tough stance against Taiwan, India and Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam. China could have up to 700 nuclear weapons by 2027, and Beijing will carry 1,000 nuclear weapons by 2030, the Pentagon said.
