Good news for the state economy. 2,000 girgai of improved species of Gujarat will come to Assam soon. According to discussions between Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Arrangements have been made to bring 2,000 girgai to Assam. A team of senior officials of agriculture and animal husbandry department of the state government led by MLA Padma Hazarika, chairman of Garukhunti project, arrived in Gujarat under the direction of Chief Minister Dr Sharma.
Garukti project chairman Padma Hazarika along with a team of three veterinarians including Vinod Sesan, Dr Karunakant Konwar of agriculture department along with animal husbandry minister Raghavji Patel in Ahmedabad, Gujarat at 4 pm today. The meeting was held. The meeting arranged for 200 girgai to be brought within a month and 500 by next March. Accordingly, the process of selection of girgai to be brought from tomorrow will begin.
