Pregnant women employees should also come to the office
Women employees and pregnant workers with children under the age of three must come back to the office from now on. The state government has withdrawn its direction to exempt these employees for the covid epidemic. The new directive will be applicable in the case of government offices, public sector institutions, financial institutions and private offices. All government employees except women employees on leave have been directed to attend the office. The directive issued by the Chief Secretary of the State mentions that the overall covid situation in the state has been reviewed and the covid situation has improved.
In addition, 95 per cent of those eligible for vaccine in the state have got the first dose of vaccine. The number of people taking both the doses of vaccine has also increased to 31 per cent. In view of which the state government has taken this decision. It may be recalled that at the end of the nationwide lockdown announced for covid infection, various services were relaxed. Various instructions were also issued to government employees at various times keeping in view the covid situation. But pregnant workers and women employees with children under the age of three were exempted from attending the office. They were allowed to work from home.
