Police shoot at kidnappers in Goalpara, snatch pistolfrom police trying to escape

Police firing at kidnappers in Goalpara. Police were shoot in the leg of the kidnapper while trying to escape from the police. The incident took place last night at Damra in Goalpara. The kidnappers injured in the firing were identified as Sabadam Marak alias Saddam Hussein.

Saddam Hussein’s house is in Sukhchar, Mankasar. Krishnai was kidnapped on November 9 under the leadership of Saddam Hussein by a man named Rabiul Hussain of Karaikhowa Deodhuturi village in the district. Saddam Hussein tried to escape by snatching a pistol from the police as police took Saddam Hussein along with him and tried to rescue another kidnapper after the man was rescued from Meghalaya.

The injured Saddam Hussein has been admitted to Goalpara Civil Hospital late in the night. Police have also arrested five other kidnappers involved besides the main mastermind of the kidnapping Saddam Hussein. It may be recalled that the police led by additional superintendent of police of the district Mrinal Deka conducted a search operation to rescue the kidnapped man.
