The possibility of petrol-diesel prices going down again is increasing. The central government had decided to reduce petrol-diesel prices early this month. But in the meantime it has had an impact in many states though there are some states where the price of fuel has not come down.
However, the price of petrol and diesel does not come down again in Assam. In Rajasthan it is the government that has announced reduction in petrol and diesel VAT i.e. value added tax. This will lead to a reduction in prices of fuel in the state at Rs 4-5 per litre. It may be recalled that Rajasthan currently has a petrol price of Rs 107.06 per litre and diesel of Rs 90.70 per litre.
