Assam police is the third in the country

Assam police has topped the list in smart policing in the country. The Indian Police Foundation has conducted a survey on police in all the states and Union Territories of the country. Assam police got this recognition by 7.89 points out of 10 marks in this survey.

On the contrary, leading states like Kerala, Gujarat, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra are lagging behind Assam in smart policing. The points scored by Kerala were 7.53, Gujarat 7.04, Delhi 6.85, Tamil Nadu 6.73, Karnataka 6.69 and Maharashtra 6.25 points.

Andhra Pradesh is the top state in this survey. Out of the total 10 points, Andhra Pradesh Police is second with 8.11 points and Telangana by 8.10 points. The lessons of this smart policing survey were police sensitivity, strictness, good behaviour, quickness, problem solving, spirit of support, fairness, accountability, etc.

The survey was assessed online by the Indian Police Federation and experts from institutions like IIT Kanpur, Tata Institute of Mumbai have been involved in the review. Director General of Police Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta congratulated every officer, junior and staff of the police department after this recognition of Assam Police.
