Four years have passed without mahanayak Biju Phukan
Today is the fourth death anniversary of Assamese film superstar Biju Phukan. Four years have passed since the Assamese film industry was without the great hero Biju Phukan. Biju Phukan left thousands of fans in the ocean of grief and rushed away on November 22, 2017. Fans laughed on the premises of Apollo Hospital, Guwahati on the day of the news of biju phukan’s death at the age of 70.
The actor, who first made a debut in a small role in the famous Assamese film Dr Bezbaruah, first played the hero in Baruah’s Sansar and later became a popular hero in Assamese cinema. Ajali Nawau, Daughter-in-law played by Biju Phukan is considered to be an all time successful Assamese film.
Biju Phukan has also acted in several parallel films even though he is mainly involved in business films. Apart from acting in The Film of Bhavendranath Saikia, Janhnu Baruah, he has also played the mobile theatre of Assam. He starred in Awahan Theatre and Bhagyadevi Theatre.
Biju Phukan stepped into not only acting but also politics. He contested from Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency on assam gana parishad party ticket in 1999 Lok Sabha elections. But he lost this election.
