Ankita Dutta appointed president of State Youth Congress

The Congress High Command on Thursday handed over the charge of president of Assam Pradesh Youth Congress to Ankita Dutta after the change of leadership of the state Congress. Approval of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi In a statement today, Srinivas B.V., president of Nikhil Bharat Yuva Congress, appointed Ankita Dutta as the President of the State Youth Congress. Similarly, Ratul Patwari was appointed as the Acting President of the State Youth Congress.

It may be recalled that Ankita Dutta, the eldest daughter of late State Congress president, former minister Anjan Dutta, contested as congress party candidate from Amguri constituency in the last 2016 and 2021 assembly elections and lost to AGP candidate Pradeep Hazarika by a narrow margin on both sides. 

Similarly, Ratul Patwari, who was given the charge of executive president of the State Youth Congress, contested as congress party candidate in Dharmapur constituency in the 2021 assembly elections and lost to BJP’s Chandramohan Patwari. State Congress president Bhupen Kumar Barai congratulated and congratulated newly appointed youth Congress president Ankita Dutta.
