Fire death toll in Nagaland rises to 14: Risk of increase in casualties

The heated situation took place on Saturday on the border of Tiru and Oating slums under Tijit police station in Man district of neighbouring Nagaland. In Nagaland, 13 innocent people were killed in security firing.

Security forces allegedly attacked the youths in Tiru village of Man district after chasing a tip-off suspecting them to be members of nscn(NSCN).

And it was only after this incident that a fierce clash broke out between the army and the general public in Mann district of Nagaland. The agitated people set fire to two vehicles of the Army.

A team of army para regiments reportedly asked three Naga stake dispersal stake dispersal but the army team fired at three Nagas as the men fled. The army then set fire to two army vehicles protesting the death of three innocent youths and attacked the army team with a da-stick-khaja gun.

The army firing again injured the carriers in response. Meanwhile, gautam lal, an army jawan from Uttarakhand, was killed in a public attack. More than 10 army personnel were injured in the incident. Seven of these army personnel were given first aid at Sarideo district civil hospital and sent to Dinjan Army Hospital for better treatment. The incident was so horrific that the number of casualties in the village is reported to be even higher.

Meanwhile, reacting to the incident, Nagaland Chief Minister Nephiu Rio extended his condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery. Chief Minister Nephiu Rio also constituted a high level SIT team to investigate the entire incident and informed them that justice would be given to the victims.
