Encounter again in Nagaon: Police most wanted ifu goonshot; Arrest 7 accused

Abdul Bashed alias Ifu, a drug mafia and youth Congress leader from Nagaon city, was seriously injured in the encounter at the hands of an expeditionary team of Nagaon superintendent of police Anand Mishra. Police were forced to target and shoot the milkman while trying to escape when police raided the residence in Ifur Azad Nagar around 9.30pm tonight and tried to nab him. Drug mafia Ifu was seriously injured when police opened fire on his right leg.

It may be recalled that the long-associated Ifu police attempted to arrest him in various criminal cases but today the police succeeded in arresting him. Several cases have been registered against him at various police stations including Nagaon Sadar police station for various criminal incidents on various occasions. For the past seven years, former NAGAON Sadar constituency MLA Dr Durlav Samuwar had to eat jail hajot rice for attacking his residence in Barbazar. Later, after coming out of jail, Ifu, who continued his empire of various crimes with re-drugs, had to be shot dead by the police as soon as he fled today. Superintendent of Police Anand Mishra said that seven persons along with the milk man were also arrested from the spot. Epin, who was injured after the incident, is immediately undergoing treatment at The Martyr Bhogeshwari Phukanni Civil Hospital in Nagaon.
