Robber arrested in police raid at Kanaimara in Hatshingimari

Police raided Kanaimara in Kharuabandha police chowky area of South Shalmara Mankachar district last night and arrested a robber. It may be recalled that on October 24, a gang of four robbers broke a door at Myanal Haque’s house in Raghupara village of Hatshingimari and looted Rs 6 lakh in cash. The gang of robbers had been hiding since then but yesterday police arrested a robber named Salim Sheikh on a tip-off and arrested him at the end of interrogation and produced him before the Hatshingimari district court today.

The court has already sent the robber to Dhubri jail. Kharuabandha police station deputy inspector Hiren Bangarum said the arrested robber had already confessed to the robbery and informed that the remaining robbers involved in the incident would be arrested by the police at the earliest.
