Assam Rifles success: Drugs worth over Rs 500 crore seized

A raid by Assam Rifles has managed to nab a supplier with drugs worth around Rs 500 crore. Moreh Battalion of Assam Rifles in Manipur bordering Manipur has been able to arrest the drug supplier from Myanmar.

A press release from Assam Rifles said the seized drugs are worth over Rs 500 crore in the estimated market value of ethnic drugs. The narcotic includes 54 kg brown sugar and 154 kg of methamfetamine.

It may be recalled that drugs and narcotics are currently the main source of money for terrorist groups living in Myanmar.
