Thirty First and Picnic: Drunk driving fined Rs 10,000

The government will be tough on thirty firsts and picnics this time in the interest of preventing road accidents. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma is already responsible for preventing road accidents in each district, The government has issued fresh instructions to transport officials to ensure that some young boys do not die in accidents by drinking with the festive jewellery. Chief Minister Dr Sharma has directed the state administration to keep a close watch on thirty firsts and picnic parties this time.

The state transport department, police administration has been strict following chief minister Dr Sharma’s directive to prevent drivers already accompanying picnic parties from driving drunk, For this, the deputy commissioner of each district has issued new instructions. The transport department has also given some other instructions. In an exclusive meeting with ‘Regular Messages’, Assistant Commissioner of Transport Gautam Das said that the state has already started the picnic season. During this picnic season so that the drivers of the picnic team do not go for picnics drunk, I have requested for that first politely. Otherwise, assistant transport commissioner Gautam Das warned that such drivers would be fined Rs. 10,000 as per Section 185 of the transport department as well as to be arrested in addition to cancellation of the licence to drive a cow. Similarly, the driver who drinks in the picnic spot will be equally wild.

Assistant Transport Commissioner Gautam Das made it clear that such a drastic step will be taken in the interest of saving the lives of the people. In parallel, the administration has also banned loud music in Thirty First and Picnic. The administration will take legal action against such people if the administration disobeys the rules laid down. Meanwhile, the conscious public welcomed such a move taken by the government to prevent accidents.
