Illegal land mining in East Majirgaon: Forest department seizes JCB

The forest department today seized an excavator while illegally digging agricultural land in east Majirgaon under Azara police station in the city. Illegal mining reportedly carried a section of Azara police and forest department to Barjhar airport and some youths dug up agricultural land in East Majiripaon under Azara Revenue Circle and dumpered the land to various places.

It may be mentioned that the excavation, which is operating somewhat from Barjhar airport, is likely to pose a threat to the airport during the monsoon. The JCB which carried out the excavation was finally forced to seize the Palashbari ranger on the complaint of locals. Local farmers have complained that many livestock have already died due to mining carried out by moimatali without carefor the convenience and convenience of the people.
