Will there be a lockdown again in the country? Such possibilities have been raised due to increase in the infection of omiciran. The Union Health Ministry has advised states and Union Territories to remain vigilant. Now the situation is such that any moment may lead to a lockdown for the omicran.
The number of people affected by amikran has increased to 38 in India. Meanwhile information about amikiran victims in Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh etc. has also come to light. So far 18 people have been diagnosed with atomin in Maharashtra. Nine people have been diagnosed in Rajasthan, 3 in Karnataka, 1 in Gujarat and two in Delhi.
The Uddhav Thackeray government has issued Section 144 in view of the amiran infection in Maharashtra. Large number of people gathering in public places, any kind of rally is banned. Maharashtra health minister Rajash Tupe has said we have not thought of any lockdown so far. We are keeping an eye on the situation. We will act as per the guidelines issued by the Central Government.
The central government has already directed the state government to strictly comply with the night curfew and other guidelines. The Centre has directed to keep a close watch on sensitive areas where the rate of covid infection is more than 5 per cent.
