Elephant-man conflict, house-door ransacked, 8 bighas of mud rubber garden tahilang

Elephant human conflict continues in Goalpara. A large herd of wild elephants carried out a series of terrors late in the night at Baripara under Shimlitola police station in the district.

Nearly half a hundred wild elephants caused extensive damage to several banana gardens, rubber gardens in the village.

The herd of elephants planted a rubber garden of about 8 bighas of land in Ranjit Kalita in the village.

Villagers are terrified by the terror that a large herd of wild elephants carried out at night. The night passes in the midst of fear and panic.

Wild elephants also ransacked two houses in Gagan Kalita in the village. The forest department, police men with the help of locals managed to chase away the herd of elephants in the early hours of the morning.

Some have expressed concern over wild elephants coming to the public area mainly in search of food for deforestation.
