It may be recalled that some traders had been illegally giving shops by occupying footpaths in different parts of the city. It was because of these footpath shops that the general public was facing difficulties in walking on foot. So in view of all these aspects, the GMC on Friday launched a campaign against the traders on this footpath and fined them. The GMC was assisted by the Dispur police in the eviction.
