Agar wood with Burmese supari worth Rs 2 crore seized in Hailakandi
Hailakandi police have achieved huge success in conducting illegal Burmese supari operations. A large quantity of Burmese supari and agar wood have been seized in the police operation. Hailakandi police conducted two separate raids on Saturday and seized about 283 quintals of Burmese supari. Its market value is estimated at Rs 1 crore. At the same time, police seized 20 sacks of agar wood. Police arrested a bus number ASAS-25-EC-4927 heading towards Guwahati from Hailakandi on Friday night. And police seized 245 quintals of Burmese supari from the ferry. The ferry recovered 20 sacks of wood along with Burmese supari. Police estimate that the market value of the seized agar wood will be rs crore.
