Suspect Brown Sugar seized from e-rickshaw in West Majdia, Sarthebari: One arrested…

The police administration is continuing its anti-drug drive in Barpeta district. The anti-drug operation was carried out by Majdia police in Barpeta district on Wednesday morning following a tip off. A large number of suspected brown sugars were seized from an e-rickshaw in the operation conducted at West Majdia Chowk Market led by Majdia police station in-charge Police Officer Anirban Rahang.

The e-rickshaw hid the suspected brown sugar in a soap box. Majdia police arrested the driver of the e-rickshaw on charges of drug trafficking. The arrested driver is said to be Sahidul Islam (23), son of Panju Meena of Sonattari village under Tarabari police station in Barpeta district. Police are reportedly continuing to interrogate the arrested Shahidul Islam at Sarthebari police station for more information.
