Jobs by January on compassionate ground in Assam

It has come to the notice of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma that applications for jobs on the compassionate ground have been lying indisposed for a long time. He has instructed the Chief Secretary to dispose of all such job applications by January 31, 2022, in a mission mode.

The Personnel Department, as a follow-up, has also asked all the administrative departments to submit details of applications for grade III and grade IV jobs on compassionate ground and their vacancy positions immediately.

According to the existing rules, the district-level committees have to clear the names of job seekers on compassionate ground and send them to the state-level selection committee headed by the Chief Secretary. The list of candidates approved by the state-level committee gets an appointment.

The Chief Secretary has also instructed all the departments to place all applications for jobs on compassionate ground in district-level committees. The district-level committees headed by deputy commissioners will send their approved lists to the state-level committee without delay.
