Illegal liquor dealer in Kamrup district excise

Kamrup district excise superintendent Manvi Das, who was trying to smuggled bilathi liquor on the occasion of Bhogali Bihu, was killed in Koli. A tip-off on Tuesday night said that in a raid conducted at Hahim Napara in Boko Revenue Circle in Kamrup district, the bilati liquor entered Assam was seized by evading taxes worth nearly lakhs of rupees.

The excise officer said that further investigation is on by arresting a person involved in the misdeeds under the Assam Excise Act on a non-bailable section. Produced in Meghalaya and Arunachal, this evil force brought bhogali bihu’s asilar to be sold illegally in different parts of Assam.

It may be recalled that there is an attempt to sell illegal liquor almost tax evaded from the border state of Assam but the attempt by Kamrup city district excise superintendent Manvi Das has uprooted many circles of people who have wanted to carry out illegal liquor illegally through such tax evasion in the past. As a result a record number of revenues from Kamrup district have been credited to the Assam government exchequer as compared to last year.
