Border Security Force, Assam police seize drugs worth over Rs 1.30 crore, 1 held

The Border Security Force (BSF) in a joint operation with the police recovered drugs worth more than Rs 1.30 crore in Assam’s Karimganj district on Thursday evening.

Based on secret information, BSF and Karimganj district police jointly launched an operation in the Pirerchek area in Karimganj and intercepted a vehicle.

“During the search, the security personnel recovered 26,000 tablets of contraband drugs from the vehicle. The market value of the seized contraband drugs is estimated to be around Rs 1.30 crore,” said a police official.

Police also apprehended a person in connection with the recovery of contraband drugs.

A case has been registered at Karimganj Sadar police station and further investigation into the case is underway.
