Assam CM to meet RSS chief Bhagwat in Silchar

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will meet Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat in Silchar on January 30. Bhagwat is currently on a four-day visit to this south Assam town and set to leave for Nagpur on January 31.
Sources said Sarma will visit Silchar on January 30 and meet the RSS chief at Keshav Bhavan, the office of the Sangh here. The proposed meeting is non-official in nature, the sources added.
Bhagwat addressed a meeting of the RSS pracharaks of Barak Valley and neighbouring states at Keshav Bhavan on Friday. A number of pro-Hindu non-political organisations also met the RSS chief in the evening on the backdrop of leaving out 19 lakh people, most of them Bengali Hindus, from the NRC in Assam, non-implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 in Assam and declaration of large number of Bengali Hindus of Barak Valley areas.
