Militant Hideout Busted In Assam’s Dima Hasao, Weapons Recovered
The Haflong battalion of Assam Rifles on Sunday busted a militant hideout at Shongkai Village in Assam’s Dima Hasao. The battalion also recovered a large quantity of weapons during the operation. Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Assam Rifles tweeted, ”ASSAM RIFLES BUST INSURGENT CAMP Haflong Battalion of #AssamRifles, on 04 Feb, busted a hideout in Shongkai Village, Dima Hasao, Assam and recovered large quantity of weapons.”
In last year December, the Assam Rifles along with Tengnoupal police had seized illegal narcotics substances worth Rs 500 crore from a warehouse in Moreh here. Acting on a tip-off, the duo carried out an operation and also arrested one Myanmar national in this regard. Sharing the information on the micro-blogging site twitter, Manipur Chief Minister N.Biren Singh said,”Marvellous achievement by Tengnoupal Police & 43 Assam Rifles on seizing illegal narcotics substances worth Rs 500 Cr from a warehouse in Moreh.
On receiving a reliable input, the combined team had arrested one Myanmar national with 220 soap cases of suspected heroin.
