Nagaon Bagori police under special supervision of the incharge SP Dhruba Bora seized two trucks laden with cattle near Bagori and arrested three persons for illegally transporting the cattle on Sunday night.
Subsequently, police rescued 47 cattle heads from those trucks bearing registration numbers AS 01 EC 6007 and AS 02 E 4391. The arrested cattle smugglers were identified as Sahidulla of Bormabil, Wahid Islam of Bogamur and Guljar Hussain of Bogamur under Samaguri PS who were carrying the cattle heads from upper Assam towards Bangladesh, sources said, adding that police registered a case in this regard and further investigation is on.
Meanwhile based on secret inputs, Samaguri police nabbed three wanted bike lifters on Sunday night. The bike lifters who were arrested by police have been identified as Rahmat Ali of Khalihamari, Nizam Uddin of Kuhumtoli and Abul Hussain of Tekeliphuta under Samaguri PS, sources added.
Besides, Jajori police arrested one Imdadul Islam from Bogoriguripar village on Sunday night and recovered a large number of plastic containers filled with suspected heroin from his possession, sources said, adding that the follow up legal action is being taken up.
