The Assam cabinet on Monday gave approval to a Rs 3,800-crore project, funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency, to improve access to quality tertiary level healthcare.(TNL)
The components of the “Assam Health System Strengthening Project” include super specialty wing in six medical colleges — Silchar, Tezpur, Jorhat, Barpeta, Diphu and Lakhimpur, infrastructural improvement in six district hospitals in Silchar, Udalguri, Hojai, Hailakandi, Darrang and Dima Hasao, construction of Swasthya Bhawan, which will be an administrative centre for dedicated training and monitoring and development of hospital management information system for hospitals.(TNL)
