Arunachal Pradesh: Army’s Cheetah Helicopter crashes near Mandala, search op underway

Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a Cheetah helicopter of the Indian Army has crashed in Arunchal Pradesh on March 16.

The incident took place at around 9:15 am near Mandala, West of Bomdila.

This was confirmed by Defence spokesperson.

The chopper, which was flying an operational sortie near Bomdila reportedly lost contact with Air Traffic Control (ATC) around 9.15a.m., Lt Col. Mahendra Rawat said.

“It crashed near Mandala, west of Bomdila. Search parties have been sent to the spot,” he said, adding that more details were awaited.

Meanwhile, rescue team has been rushed to the spot.
