Teacher Arrested For Providing Answers to Daughter Inside Exam Hall In Assam

Guwahati: The teacher who assisted his daughter in drafting exam answers was arrested by the Cachar Police.

The teacher identified as Anwarul Haque, is said to have been fired after a video of him helping his daughter with her Higher Secondary exam questions went popular on social media. Another instructor named Bikash Purkayastha was also suspended for having a phone on him while in charge.

The investigation of Haque’s daughter, meanwhile, has also been postponed.

The incident was reported from the Banskandi Nena Mia Higher Secondary school examination center in Cachar of Assam on March 14.

After the incident, Anwarul Haque reportedly fled. The Banskandi Police apprehended him after beginning search operations on Thursday. Authorities are questioning Haque at the Lakhipur Police Outpost right now.

However, the other teacher Bikash Purkayastha is currently on the run.

The Banskandi Nena Mia HS School’s principal has refuted any claims that she assisted any candidates in the exam room and asserted that Bikash Purkayastha was behind the plot.

In a significant development, the Assam Police on Thursday detained the suspected schemer of the HSLC paper leak scam in Lakhimpur of Assam.

Pranab Dutta, the principal of Luit Kaboli High School in Lakhimpur and the supervisor of the testing facility has been named as the alleged mastermind. Sources claim that Kumud Rajkhowa, another teacher, has also been arrested in connection with the case.

Two more people from Gogamukh have also been held for questioning. According to reports, both teachers’ employment has been terminated.
