2 Teachers In HSLC Paper Leak Case Remanded to Judicial Custody

Guwahati: Two teachers have been put in detention for their involvement in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) paper leak case.

The two teachers Jyotirekha Borgohain and Herambo Kumar Das were produced before the court on Monday.

The Bhauri Devi Sarawgi High School was the place where the two teachers worked. The school’s Controller of Exams was Jyotirekha Borgohain. The previous Assistant Controller of Exams was Herambo Kumar Das.

The duo had already been remanded to the custody of the CID police by a court in Guwahati in the HSLC paper leak case.

The three Lakhimpur, Assam, teachers who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the HSLC question paper leak case were instead placed in the Criminal Investigation Department’s 10-day custody (CID).

The three arrested teachers Kumud Rajkhowa, Pranab Dutta and Prasanna Das were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on Saturday.

Nayan Jyoti Sarma, the Controller of Exams for the Assam Board of Secondary Education (SEBA), came at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) office in Guwahati earlier on Monday.

The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) question paper leak case led to the CID calling Sarma in for questioning. The CID has also called two additional people in addition to Sarma. They have been identified as security guard Kushal Das and clerk Kushal Das, respectively.

The three SEBA employees are currently being questioned by CID officials.
