Guwahati: A woman jawan of the Border Security Force (BSF) from Assam is said to have committed suicide at her West Bengali apartment in Cooch Behar.
The deceased jawan, identified as Dhritashree Rabha, hailed from Dakuapara village in Boko.
Reports claim that Rabha, who had been stationed at Cooch Behar for the previous six months, was found hanged on Monday afternoon in her own rooms.
The occurrence has shocked the family members, who are unable to accept that Rabha could have done such a thing.
“She had called yesterday night and informed us that she would be visiting us on April 1 for Bihu. She was a jolly girl and never in my life have I thought that she would take such an extreme step, Rabha’s mother said.
Official stated that her mortal remains would be brought to her house tomorrow for further proceedings.
