CID Questioned SEBA Exam Controller & 2 Others In HSLC Paper Leak Case

Guwahati: Nayan Jyoti Sarma, the Controller of Exams for the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), has arrived at the CID headquarters in Guwahati.

The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) question paper leak case led to the CID calling Sarma in for questioning. The CID has also called two additional people in addition to Sarma. They have been identified as Kushal Das who is a clerk and the other is a security guard.

The three SEBA employees are currently being questioned by CID officials. The trio was carrying significant documents, according to sources.

Nayan Jyoti Sarma had earlier promised that the HSLC exam results would be released in May.

Speaking to reporters, Sarma said, “The HSLC results will be declared in May itself, however, there might be an inevitable delay of 8-10 days.”

The three teachers of Lakhimpur in Assam who were arrested on Friday for their alleged involvement in the HSLC question paper leak case have been placed in the CID’s 10-day detention.

The three arrested teachers Kumud Rajkhowa, Pranab Dutta and Prasanna Das were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on Saturday.

A student who was reportedly involved in the case at the age of 14 was also brought before the court today. The student has been transferred to Boko’s childcare facility.

On the other hand, 10 additional suspects were today brought before the court after their time in police detention was over. The ten people have all been placed in judicial detention.
