Amritpal Singh Now Subject to Non-Bailable Warrant

Guwahati: Waris de Punjab chief and Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh has been issued a lookout circular (LOC) and a non-bailable warrant, as per reports emerged on Wednesday.

Inspector General of Police (Headquarters), Punjab Sukhchain Singh Gill stated during a press conference that the Khalistani commander has not yet been taken into custody.

The IGP said, “We are making all efforts to arrest him. We’re hopeful that we’ll arrest him soon…It is difficult to say that. Punjab Police is receiving full cooperation from other states and central agencies.”

Meanwhile, the Information and Public Relations Department Punjab government said, “A lookout circular (LOC) and non-bailable warrant (NBW) have been issued against Amritpal Singh, who remains a fugitive and efforts are being made to arrest him.”

A pro-Khalistani leader was brought from Punjab to Assam yesterday.

On Monday night, the prisoner was airlifted from Punjab to Guwahati’s LGBI Airport. Then, early on Tuesday morning, he was transferred to Dibrugarh Central Prison under guard.

Even though the police withheld the prisoner’s identification, it was assumed that he was Harjit Singh, Amritpal Singh’s uncle.

Harjit Singh, Amritpal’s uncle, and his driver, Harpreet Singh, surrendered late on Sunday night in Jalandhar, according to the Punjab Police.

Four of the extreme Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh’s assistants were brought to Dibrugarh on Sunday. The Dibrugarh Central Prison is now housing Daljeet Singh Kalsi, Bhagwant Singh, Gurmeet Singh, and Pradhanmantri Bajeka.

Amritpal Singh, the leader of “Waris De Punjab,” and his supporters burst into a police station one month ago with swords and firearms in order to free one of his aides; now there is a crackdown to capture him. In the altercation, six police officers suffered injuries. After the incident, the Punjab administration received a lot of criticism for the state’s law and order condition.
