After four months, COVID knocks in Assam with 2 positive cases

Guwahati: COVID-19 has returned to Assam after a four-month absence with the discovery of two positive cases in the last five days.

”A COVID-infected patient from Maharashtra has been admitted to a hospital in Guwahati,” said Assam Health Minister, Keshab Mahanta. 

The previous case detected five days ago was a healthcare worker from Kamrup (Metro).

According to reports, the latest case was discovered on March 22 during the testing of 30 samples, and the number of instances may increase.

India recorded 1,249 additional COVID cases, bringing the total number of current cases to 7,927.

Karnataka and Gujarat each reported one death, bringing the total to 5,30,818 deaths, according to the Union Health Ministry.

However, weekly optimism was only measured at 1.14 percent, while daily positivity was only measured at 1.19 percent.

The total number of COVID cases was 4.47 crore, and the active cases currently make up 0.02 percent of all infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was reported to be 98.79 percent.

”A total of 92.07 crore tests for detection of COVID have been conducted so far with 1,05,316 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours,” the ministry added.
