Guwahati: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) on Friday issued guidelines for administering the postponed science and language exams in response to the issue surrounding the question paper leak.
This comes after the Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exams in Assam were postponed and rescheduled after the General Science and Assamese language question papers were exposed before to the tests.
The station in-charges of the respective police stations will be required to accept the question paper packets in accordance with the most recent SEBA regulations.
According to the most recent announcement from SEBA, the exam centres’ supervisor would have to open the packages while being filmed by CCTV.
The statement further stated that returning SEBA officials will now need to bring any unused question papers, answer sheets, and other documents with them.
It should be noted that the General Science exam, which had to be postponed, will now take place on March 30, while the exams for all MIL/English (IL) topics will now take place on April 1.
The General Science question paper was leaked earlier this month during the ongoing HSLC Class 10 examinations in Assam, which led SEBA to cancel the exam. Ranoj Pegu, the state’s minister of education, received harsh criticism from the opposition and from students who reported being harassed.
The Assam Police CID branch was then given the investigation into the document leak issue. As a result of the CID’s investigation, which uncovered a significant nexus spanning the state, several people have been arrested in connection with the case.
One of the prime suspects then admitted to officials during questioning that the Assamese language exam paper might also have leaked. As a result, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma gave SEBA the go-ahead to cancel and postpone the exam.
