Guwahati: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio claimed on March 27 that further division will harm the state.
The Chief Minister of Nagaland was speaking on the House’s floor on March 27 in the state Legislative Assembly’s first Budget session.
He also stresses that everyone should come together since the government is dedicated to finding a quick resolution to the Naga political issue.
Speaking on the issue of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) demand, Rio said, ”The state will weaken if it is divided further. The region has a great potential for progress”.
Moreover, he requested the Central government to offer a special package for the development of Nagaland’s eastern region.
CM Rio delivered the budget for the coming fiscal year 2023–24 on March 27. This is the first budget session of the Rio administration during his fifth term as the state’s chief executive.
Rio reaffirmed the government’s commitment to unity and urged everyone to work towards a unified resolution rather than further division.
