Cheetah Translocated from Namibia to India Gives Birth to 4 Cubs

Guwahati: One of the cheetahs that was transported from Namibia to India gave birth to four cubs.

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav announced it by tweeting a photo and video of the cubs and describing it as “a monumental milestone in India’s wildlife protection history.”

In his tweet Yadav said, “I am delighted to share that four cubs have been born to one of the cheetahs translocated to India on 17th September 2022, under the visionary leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi ji (sic).”

He also expressed his gratitude to the Project Cheetah team as a whole for their efforts in reintroducing the giant animal to India. He also commended them for their efforts in undoing a previous ecological error.
