Tripura: BJP MLA claims that obscene videos mistakenly surfaced on phone

Guwahati: Tripura BJP MLA Jadab Lal Nath who was reportedly found watching pornographic videos on his phone during the Assembly session, claimed that the video accidently surfaced while he was watching something else.

Speaking about the incident, MLA Nath asserted that because of his lack of mobile friendliness, all these pornographic videos accidentally surfaced.

“I don’t know how this video has appeared on my phone. I don’t use smartphones that much and I am also not friendly with smartphones. Mistakenly these videos have appeared on my phone”, he claimed.

He further informed that “I spoke with my party leadership and also talked with the BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya and he directed me to wait for the decision which party will give to me”.

Jadab Lal Nath, who was a CPI(M) worker, joined BJP before 2018. Ramendra Chandra Debnath, a candidate for the CPI(M) and a previous speaker, was Nath’s opponent in the 2018 election. Nath lost the race, but he ran again and won the Bagbasa Assembly Constituency in Tripura’s North district.

According to reports within the Tripura Legislative Assembly informed that the incident occurred on the second day of the assembly session which is on Monday.

But since late last night, the footage of the BJP lawmaker viewing pornographic material while the Assembly was in session has gone viral on social media.

He was seen carrying a tablet with the alleged video playing in the now-viral video.

In response to this video, internet users criticised the elected representative for acting shamefully during the current assembly session.
