Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled a number of projects in Bhergaon on April 2, marking a significant step towards the overall development of the Udalguri district.
The inauguration ceremony included the laying of the cornerstones for a new police station and an Ekalavya school as well as a 20-crore rupee grant for a new college, stadium, and school modernization. 35 km of connected roads were also improved to improve connectivity and transit.
The Chief Minister visited Tangla in the Udalguri district during the 2021 elections on a padyatra and pledged to usher in a wave of development. This development initiative’s most recent launch represents a step towards delivering on that promise.
Himanta Biswa Sarma showed his enthusiasm by tweeting that he was committed to bringing the town’s welfare projects. The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation’s projects include providing water to every inhabitant, improving Tangla Hospital and School, and receiving a grant of Rs. 35 crores for a new auditorium, roads, and drainage.
Moreover, Jalimukh Bundh was repaired, and in Dimakuchi, the Chief Minister lay the cornerstone for the Nanaikhuti Multi-Village Public Water Supply Project, which is part of the Jal Jeevan Mission and will cost Rs. 178.53 crore. Also, he opened the Dimakuchi Model Hospital, which significantly improved the region’s medical capabilities.
A new mini-stadium, Model Tea Garden School, Elephant Watch Tower, Handloom Cluster, and Jagannath Community Hall and Training Center for the tea garden workers were also given the green light by Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The Chief Minister spoke with the Divyang people during his visit to Dimakuchi and gave the DC (Udalguri) the go-ahead to offer them all the assistance they require.
