Arunachal Jailbreak: NSCN-K Cadre Who Killed Jawan Apprehended

Guwahati: One of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) militants who killed a jawan in Arunachal Pradesh and managed to escape from prison was apprehended, reports emerged on Monday.

The NSCN-K cadre who was arrested has been identified as Roksen Homcha Lowang, one of the cadres responsible for the murder of an Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn) jawan while eluding capture.

The insurgent was recaptured early on Monday with an Ak-47 rifle from a jungle in Tirap district by a squad comprised of members of the Tirap Police, Assam Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), IRBn and Special Task Force (STF) under the direction of SP Kardak Riba.

Notably, on March 26, two NSCN-K (National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang) militants assassinated a jawan in Arunachal Pradesh after breaking out of jail.

Two NSCN cadres identified as Roksen Homcha Lowang and Titpu Kitnya were accused of snatching an AK-47 gun from the deceased and shooting at him in the incident which was reported in Tirap HQ Khonsa.

The deceased jawan was identified as Wangnyam Bosai, an Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn) constable.

Bosai passed away while travelling to Dibrugarh hospital in Assam for advanced treatment.

The NCSN cadre Titpu Kitnya was being held as an undertrial prisoner when Roksen Homcha was serving his murder conviction

Meanwhile, efforts to trace and nab the escapees were initiated by Arunachal Pradesh Police spokesperson Rohit Rajbir Singh.
