Assam Police Seize Yaba Tablets Worth Crores In Silchar, 2 Arrested
Guwahati: In one of the biggest drug seizures of Yaba tablets, a massive consignment of tables worth crores has been seized by Assam Police in Silchar on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, Assam Police conducted a search operation in Bagador area of Silchar.
During the operation, as many as 50 packets containing 5 lakh yaba tablets were seized.
Moreover, the huge consignment of Yaba tablets was intercepted in Bagador area while it was en route from Myanmar via Mizoram.
The seized Yaba tablets is suspected to be worth crores in the international markets.
Meanwhile, two drug peddlers has also been arrested by the police officials in connection with the seizure.
Moreover, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the efforts of Assam Police.
“@cacharpolice recovered 50 packets containing 5 lakhs yaba tablets from a consignment coming from Myanmar via a neighbouring state at Bagador, Silchar. Also apprehended two accused. Great work @assampolice. Keep it up,” tweeted CM Sarma.
