Assam: Massive Hailstorm Hits Dibrugarh

Guwahati: Around 67 villages in Dibrugarh in upper Assam were damaged on Sunday evening by a massive hailstorm.

The number of affected villages may increase as reports are still coming in.

There were power outages as a result of the hailstorm damaging electric poles and uprooting numerous big trees throughout the community. Repair work is underway to reinstate power.

According to an official of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 64 communities in the four revenue circles of Dibrugarh were impacted by the hailstorm and storm.

Following the storm, many areas of Dibrugarh reported experiencing heavy rain.

Fortunately, nobody has been injured, but one individual sustained minor injury in the Chabua revenue circle.

The affected families have received aid from the Dibrugarh district government including 3,000 tarpaulins for those whose homes were damaged.

However, a lot of people have lost their homes and are now looking for refuge in other places.

The hailstorm significantly damaged many locations in Dibrugarh, leaving many people in need of recompense.

Dibrugarh was hit by a severe hailstorm for the second time in a week and this time there were significant damages.

The affected families are still battling to recover from the storm’s damage, and efforts are still being made to repair the damage and bring electricity back to the affected areas.
