Assam: 3 Killed, 2 Injured in Road Mishap in Goalpara
Guwahati: As many as three people lost their life and two other sustained severe injuries in a road accident in Goalpara district of Assam on Wednesday.
The incident took place at National Highway 17 under Dudhnoi police station of the district.
According to reports, the accident occurred after the four-wheeler in which they were travelling hit the backside of a truck.
Three people including the car’s driver was killed on the spot, while the two others including a minor were injured.
Speaking to media, a relative of the victims stated, ”My uncle, brother and passed away in the accident. They started from Guwahati at around 11:30 pm for Dhubri and as they the fatal area, under Dudhnoi police station, their car met with an accident. They were a total of five people in the car of which three people were killed due to the accident. The other two are in hospital and one of them is seriously injured.”
Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the site and shifted the injured persons to Dudhnai Hospital.
However, doctors referred them to Guwahati for better medical treatment.
The deceased were identified as Anarul Islam (39), Noor Islam (60), and Vicky Baishya (19) of Bhaskar Nagar in Guwahati while the injured have been identified as Kalema Khatun (45) and Muktar Hussain (12).
Reportedly, the car was heading towards Dhubri from Guwahati when the accident occurred.
However, the truck managed to escape from the spot after the mishap.
