India Registers 4,435 Covid-19 Cases in Last 24 Hrs, Highest in 6 Months

Guwahati: 4,435 new Covid-19 instances were recorded in India in the recent 24 hours, which is apparently the greatest one-day surge in the previous six months.

Data from the Union Health Ministry show that 3,038 instances of Covid-19 were registered in the nation on Tuesday.

The number of active Covid-19 cases in India is currently 23,091, with a daily positive rate of 3.38 percent, according to the health ministry. Recently, there has been an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in India, with daily new infections ranging from 2,994 on April 1 to 3,824 on April 2 to 3,641 on April 3 to 3038 on April 4.

With 2,508 recoveries in the last 24 hours, there have already been 4,41,79,712 recoveries overall. India’s recovery rate is at 98.76%, according to the union government.

India has administered 220.65 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the nationwide vaccination drive, 1,979 of which were given in the previous day.

The weekly positive rate is at 2.79 percent, according to the ministry.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated on Monday that there is no cause for concern because the Omicron’s sub-variant that is circulating there has not increased hospitalisations in response to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in India.

The health ministry has also released updated Covid-19 guidelines in response to the nationwide spike in cases over the last week.
