Guwahati: The “Most Wanted” criminal in Manipur has been identified as the self-declared leader of the Kuki Independent Army/Kuki Independent Organization (KIA/KIO).
The militant leader was identified as Thangkhongam Haokip alias Davidson alias Pareng Kom. A financial reward of Rs 50,000 was also announced for information leading to his capture or execution.
According to reports, Haokip hails from Matijang Khopi village in Churachandpur district of Manipur bordering Myanmar.
He is accused of taking part in numerous ransom/extortion kidnappings as well as bombing crimes.
He is sought in relation to eight other cases in the other police stations throughout the Churachandpur district in addition to two FIR cases that were filed at the Churachandpur police station.
The police also released a photo of the accused along with providing contact details for informants.
