President Droupadi Murmu Landed in Assam Today
Guwahati: President of India Droupadi Murmu has landed in Assam on Thursday to begin a two-day visit.
President Murmu arrived at Tezpur Airport at 10 am today.
She is scheduled to attend Gaj Utsav, which will be held in several locations throughout Kaziranga, as the chief guest.
President Murmu will see and take in the stunning views of the national park during an elephant and jeep safari.
An annual organised festivities called Kaziranga Gaj Utsav is held there to promote Asiatic elephant protection and conservation.
The forest department and tourism department jointly arranged it with the intention of highlighting and resolving the state’s growing man-elephant conflict.
Numerous domestic Asian elephants take part in parades, sporting events, football games, and dance performances. They are fully adorned from head to toe.
President Murmu is also scheduled to join the Gauhati High Court’s beginning-on-Wednesday platinum jubilee celebrations.
President Droupadi Murmu will attend the high court’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations on April 7 (Friday), as part of her two-day tour to Assam.
Chief Justice of India Justice Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud will also attend the function.
