Assam Police Seize Vehicle Carrying Broiler Chicken In Gossaigaon

Guwahati: Assam Police successfully pursued and apprehended at least three vehicles carrying illegally transported broiler chicken from West Bengal at night and were on their way to some destination in the Gossaigaon area in a covert operation on Sunday.

As per reports, the broiler-laden vehicles were seized by the police in Kokrajhar of Assam during the wee hours of Sunday.

It came to fore that the vehicles carrying broiler chicken were attacked by a few unidentified miscreants.

The police from Sapkata were alerted of the incident and they immediately arrived at the scene.

Inspection revealed that the vehicles were carrying a large quantity of broiler.

The police have launched an investigation because they believe a syndicate may have been involved in the incident.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the area.

The police have cracked down on animal trafficking and had some success in the past in confiscating several vehicles.

However, the problem persists and the authorities are trying their best to put an end to it.

Currently, the seized broiler in the custody of the police.

However, the seized broiler will be disposed of as per the guidelines set by the officials.

It needs to be noted that no one has been arrested in the case yet.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter and are determined to capture the culprits involved in the incident.
