India Logs 5,880 Fresh Covid-19 Cases In Last 24 Hours

Guwahati: India on Monday recorded as many as 5,880 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours amid an uptick in Covid-19 instances in recent days.

This was informed by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

According to a notification from the health ministry, new cases brought the total number of active cases in the nation to 35,199. Out of 85,076 tests conducted during that time, the additional Covid-19 instances were found. The total number of Covid-19 tests taken in India reached 92.28 crores.

Furthermore, the percentage of active cases was 0.08 percent. The weekly positivity rate increased to 3.67%, while the daily positivity rate increased to 6.91%.

Meanwhile, 3,481 recoveries were also reported in India throughout the course of the last day, bringing the country’s total since the start of the epidemic to 4,41,96,318. 98.73% is where the recovery rate is at the moment.

On the other hand, at least 12 deaths in the nation were linked to the Covid-19 virus over the course of the previous day. This brought the number of people who have died in India as a result of the virus since the pandemic began to 5,30,979.

205 more Covid-19 vaccinations were given throughout India in the previous 24 hours. The total number of vaccines provided as part of the countrywide vaccination effort now stands at 220.66 crores. Out of this, 95.21 crore of the vaccinations were booster shots, and another 22.87 crore were preventative doses.

It should be noted that Kerala had the largest change in daily Covid-19 instances out of all Indian states. In the past 24 hours, Kerala recorded up to 859 new instances of the infection. Delhi was third with 228 newly reported cases, followed by Haryana in second place with 283 new cases.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, and Tripura were among those to not report any new cases, while Arunachal Pradesh reported one and Assam reported two new Covid-19 instances, while the nation is currently experiencing a new increase in cases.
