Guwahati: One Indian Premier League (IPL) gambler has been detained in Chirang districts of Assam on Wednesday.
According to reports, the police conducted an operation in Bijni and detained the gambler for allegedly taking part in IPL betting.
The arrested gambler has been identified as Bibek Bhattacharya.
Also, he was found to have Rs. 1500 in cash and a phone was taken by the police officials.
The 17th match of the season IPL 2023 tournament will be played today between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. The match will be began on May 31.
In this season among ten franchises will compete in a total of 70 matches.
As per reports,, the state police busted an illegal IPL T20 betting racket in Kokrajhar district On May 20, 2023.
At least, five gamble were detained foe their alleged involvement in the racket. They had been identified as Dibakar Das, Bapan Rai, Sanjeev Karmakar, Kaushik Saha, and Suraj Nath.
Moreover,Police also seized two vehicles and one motorcycle from them.
